WOMEN EMPOWERMENT-KAABIL
There has been a consistent decline in women’s labour force participation driven by a set of
diverse factors ranging from socio-cultural norms & care giving responsibilities, employer
biases, geographic and migration hurdles & effective linkages to suitable jobs. Limited
access to education, inadequate training, and systemic challenges hinder their participation
in the workforce.
6 out of 10 women are not formally employed in India (Periodic Labor Force Survey (PLFS).
Effective counselling to families, gender intentionality in workplace practices and ease of
access to jobs could significantly contribute to women’s economic empowerment journeys
and India’s economic growth.
At Kaabil, we are on a mission to empower 1 million women by 2027 by bridging the gap
between education and employment. Together, we strive to unlock the full potential of India's
workforce and contribute to a stronger, more inclusive economy.
We are one of the first CSR led collaborative initiatives, to support 1 million women with
improved income and agency, through skilling and livelihood opportunities towards
sustained financial stability.
Our Mission: Empower 1 million women by 2027 by bridging the gap between education and employment through skills training.
How We Do It:
Kaabil follows a phygital approach. The phygital approach seamlessly integrates on-ground
skilling and placements with Kaabil’s digital job-matching platform to create a holistic
ecosystem for empowering women. It combines the hands-on benefits of physical training
with the expansive reach of digital tools, ensuring broader impact and accessibility.
Over the last decade, we have skilled more than 1 million women by partnering with 2,000 institutes across 19 states through our physical skilling pathway.
Deep diving into the phygital approach:
- Physical Skilling Pathways
- Employability Skills: Our flagship Mahindra Pride Classrooms (MPC) program equips women life and soft skills to navigate and secure formal employment.
- Domain Training: Certifications and vocational skills required for the job in areas such as hospitality,
healthcare, IT, apparel industries, auto, etc.
- Agricultural Skilling: Agriculture-oriented skilling for women farmers through
sustainable practices, gender-friendly tools, and biodiversity training.
- Digital Platform Pathway
- Gender intentional job portal: A digital platform for young women entering the job
force to find hyper-local job opportunities, career counselling & mentorship.
- LMS: Digital snippets of courses to help upgrade skills (such as courses in 21st-
century skills, vocational training, and digital literacy) to enable them to secure
suitable employment.
- Career Guidance: To match women with roles aligned to their qualifications and
aspirations.
This phygital approach, both in person trainings and digital platform has the goal to empower
women with right placement opportunities.
A Collaborative Model
Kaabil partners with NGOs, government institutions, and corporates to deliver training,
mobilize women, and provide job placements.
CSR grants received from the Mahindra Group, other corporate and Philanthropic institutions
serve as the primary budget and grants towards the implementation of the program.
