Anand Mahindra

Mr. Anand Mahindra  is the Chairman of the Mahindra Group and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. His tenure has seen the Group expand domestically and internationally into a range of major industrial sectors from automobiles and agriculture to IT and aerospace. The Group has also grown inorganically through acquisitions such as Swaraj Tractors, Reva Electric Car Company, Satyam Computer Services, Peugeot Motorcycles, Aerostaff Australia, Holiday Club Resorts, and Pininfarina S.p.A.

He has served on several influential bodies, national and international. These include the Reserve Bank of India Board, UN Global Compact Board, Global Board of Advisors of the Council on Foreign Relations, World Bank Group’s Advisory Board for Doing Business and the International Advisory Council of Singapore’s Economic Development Board. He has been the President of The Confederation of Indian Industry and served on the boards of the National Stock Exchange of India and the National Council of Applied Economic Research. He is currently on the board of Invest India, the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency.

Mr. Mahindra has been conferred with the Padma Bhushan Award (2020), India's third-highest civilian honour, for his contribution to the nation in the field of ‘Trade and Industry’. He has been named in Barron's List of Top 30 CEOs worldwide (2016) and Fortune Magazine’s list of the World’s 50 Greatest Leaders (2014). He was a recipient of the Best Transformational Leader Award by the Asian Centre for Corporate Governance & Sustainability (2012). He was appointed ‘Knight in the National Order of the Legion of Honour’ by the President of the French Republic (2016) and conferred the 'Grand Officer of the Order of the Star of Italy' by the President of Italy (2013).

Mr. Mahindra is an incisive business commentator and humanitarian with over 10 million followers on Twitter. Among his many social change initiatives is the Nanhi Kali programme, which, for the last two decades, has provided over 330,000 underprivileged girls access to high-quality education. Mr. Mahindra is the Chairman of the Board of Naandi Foundation, India’s leading NGO focused on educating girls, skilling youth and providing sustainable livelihoods to small farmers through biodynamic agriculture. Mr. Mahindra also serves on the Founders Board of The Rise Fund, a $2 billion impact fund.

He is a strong votary of arts and culture. Mahindra Blues, Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards and Mahindra Sanatkada celebrate and nurture music, theatre culture, art and history in India. Mr. Mahindra is the member of the Global Advisory Council of the Lincoln Center, New York and has previously served on the Board of Trustees of the Natural History Museum of London.

In 2014, Mr. Mahindra founded the Pro Kabaddi League to popularize the ancient and popular Indian game of kabaddi. The league, televised through the STAR television network, is aimed at creating a new popular fan following for Kabbadi as an antithesis to cricket.

Mr. Mahindra graduated from Harvard College (1977) and secured an MBA from Harvard Business School (1981).

Anuradha Mahindra

Anuradha Mahindra is a pioneering Indian publisher, editor and founder of a number of critically acclaimed publications. Her first foray into publishing was as the Executive Publisher of Interiors India — the country’s first Annual on interior design. And over the past 30 years, she’s spearheaded multiple media outlets, including Verve — India’s first home-grown lifestyle and luxury publication, and Indian Quarterly — a literary publication focused on contemporary culture. Anuradha’s passion for writing and supporting the arts and gender-based issues is well-known.

She started out in advertising, and began her journalistic career by contributing to several notable newspapers and magazines including Bombay Magazine, Imprint Magazine, and The Pen Quarterly. With over a decade of experience as a writer and freelance journalist, Anuradha has a keen eye in picking up cultural trends. In the pre-Internet era, and at a time when India was a closed economy with little cross-country dialogue, such publications acted as a window into an evolving modern nation coming into its own.

As editor-in-chief of Verve, which Anuradha founded in 1995, she’s leading a magazine that had its finger firmly on the pulse of a new India. She continues to pursue numerous interests in the Indian arts, crafts, fashion and design, for which she is a major advocate. Her most recent endeavour, Deeya Paris, is an Indo-French label housed in the French Capital — it is the first boutique to showcase artisanal, home-grown creations emerging from modern-day India. Anuradha also pursues a number of philanthropic projects.

Anuradha was born and brought up in Mumbai, India. She has a degree in Psychology and Sociology from Bombay University and a Bachelor’s in Communications from Simmons College in Boston. She is married to Anand Mahindra. They have two daughters, Aalika Mahindra and Divya Mahindra, who live and work in New York. She divides her time between Mumbai and New York, where she is a member of the International Council of MoMA.

In addition to being a trustee of the K C Mahindra Education Trust since 2019, she is a Director of The Mahindra United World College since 2018, and is an honorary advisor for career training company Talerang and arts and crafts centre and gallery Artisans’ Mumbai.

Bharat Doshi

Bharat Doshi, after an exemplary career spanning over four decades in the Mahindra Group, retired as Executive Director and Group CFO, Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. in 2013. Whilst at Mahindra, he also led the initiative of conceptualising, establishing and nurturing Mahindra Finance and was its Chairman from April 2008 to March 2016. Doshi was the Chairman of Mahindra Accelo Limited and was also a Director of Mahindra Holdings Limited. He is a Trustee of Mahindra Foundation and Governor on the Board of The Mahindra United World College of India.

Doshi was nominated as a Director, for a period of 4 years, on the Central Board of Directors of the Reserve Bank of India in March 2016. Doshi was an Independent Director on the boards of both Dr.Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (2016 to 2021) and Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (2001 to 2019). He is also a member of the Global Leadership Council of LeapFrog Investments, one of the leading impact investing firms.

He has served as a member on several working groups and high-powered committees set up by Reserve Bank of India and the Government of India. He was President of the Bombay Chamber of Commerce & Industry in 2009 -10. Doshi is a recipient of several top honours including being selected as India’s Best CFO.

Bharat Doshi is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and the Institute of Company Secretaries of India and holds a Master’s degree in Law from Bombay University.

Ulhas Yargop

Ulhas Yargop, worked with the Mahindra Group for 27 years in various capacities, such as General Manager - Corporate Planning, General Manager - Product Planning, General Manager, Mahindra-Ford Project, Treasurer, Group President-IT Sector, Group CTO and Chairman of the Group Sustainability Council. He superannuated in 2019.

Ulhas had previously worked with GKN Automotive Inc., USA as Director of Finance and later with GKN Invel Transmissions Ltd., New Delhi as General Manager – Commercial. He also worked with The Standard Batteries Ltd., Mumbai as Vice President - Industrial.

Ulhas served as the Chairman of Bristlecone and a Director on the boards of Tech Mahindra, AT&T Global Network Services India Pvt. Ltd., Comviva Technologies, FixStream Technologies, d.light design Inc., etc. He also served on the board of Mahindra Satyam from 2009 until it was merged with Tech Mahindra

Ulhas is a member of the Managing Committee of Harvard Business School (India) Research Center, a member of the Board of Governors of The Mahindra United World College of India, Mahindra University, a Trustee of K.C. Mahindra Education Trust, Mahindra Foundation, and Mahindra Education Society, Mumbai. He previously served on The United World Colleges (International) board and as a Trustee of Tech Mahindra Foundation, Mahindra World School Educational Trust, Chennai and Mahindra Academy, Zaheerabad. He also served as President-Trustee of Mahindra International School (previously known as Mercedes-Benz International School).

Ulhas has a Bachelor of Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras and Master in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School.

Uma Ranjit Malhotra

Uma Malhotra set up a Play School in 1985 called First Steps. Prior to this she used to work as a teacher in West Wind Nursery School. Her experience and qualifications in the teaching sector make her an invaluable member of the Trust. Uma has now been providing an opportunity to children from underprivileged communities to avail of quality education at First Steps. Uma Malhotra set up KARO in March 2015 to provide holistic healthcare through financial and emotional support to patients in need, through their medical journey. KARO is a public charitable trust registered under the Bombay Public Trust Act of 1950.

Leena Labroo

Leena Labroo graduated from UPenn with a degree in Mass Communications. She has worked in Advertising & Market Research companies and spent over 10 years at Youthreach, a non-profit organisation that focuses on social change using education, health care and skill training interventions. She is presently a partner at Niana, a company that specialises in home fragrance.

Sheetal Mehta

Sheetal Mehta is the Senior Vice President - Corporate Social Responsibility, Mahindra Group, and is also the Trustee & Executive Director of K. C. Mahindra Education Trust (KCMET) and Mahindra Foundation.

Sheetal has over 35 years of rich and varied work experience at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. where she has served at various positions. Sheetal began her career as a Management Trainee in Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. in 1984, in the Marketing department of the Automotive Sector. She was the Product Manager for a number of flagship SUVs including the Bolero. She was also deputed to Mahindra Ford India and launched the Ford Escort in India.

It was her deep passion to be a change maker that made her transition to the K C Mahindra Education Trust in 2002, wherein she took over responsibility of heading the K. C. Mahindra Education Trust, and its flagship girl empowerment programme, Project Nanhi Kali. From being instrumental in setting up the Mahindra Group CSR Council and redefining the CSR strategy of the Mahindra Group in 2005, to ensuring that the Mahindra Group is compliant to the new Companies Act, Sheetal continues to champion the ‘RISE for Good’ philosophy of enabling people and communities to RISE.

Her other positions include being the President, Mahindra Foundation USA, Director, Mahindra Foundation UK, Trustee, Mahindra International School Academy, and President, Mahindra Education Society.

Sheetal graduated from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai and has attended a number of Executive development courses at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Calcutta. She has also attended a variety of courses at National University of Singapore, Singapore and Harvard Business School.
